This is the history of 100 Proof Hatred - as best as I can remember. - Dave
It all started around May or June of 2005, I had been out of Southern Engineering for awhile, and went to Westside rehearsal to see what was going on there. I ran into Mark Moss guitarist from Pitchfork Union, who said they were over, and that he was going to start a new band with Donovan, the old Revanance singer, Jerry the bass player from Revenance and Pitchfork Union, a new drummer, and asked if I was interested, I was, and since we already had a place to jam, we set up a drummer audition.
The drummer turned out to be a guy named Sean, who was from California and supposedly was almost in Dying Fetus, he had a extreme death metal style, blast beats and all that shit. It went pretty good with what Mark was writing, I basically just followed along. We jammed for almost a year before we had 4 songs together enough to play a show. We had started calling ourselves DEADLIFT , and played one show with that name. The one show was in Deep Ellum at Tomcats, the set was about 17 minutes long and full of mistakes. We changed our name to 100 Proof Hatred immediately after the set, while still at the club.
At some point, soon after the first show, ( around January 2006 ) Sean decided to leave the band. he picked up his drums and no one has heard from him since.
Ironically the same night Sean moved out, Mark Moss met up with Jeremy "cockring" Cochran, who was moving his drums out after being fired from Fist Full of War. Long story short, he moved his drums into the jam room less than an hour after the previous drummer left.
Having Jeremy in the band was a huge step forward, we quickly learned all the old songs we had and booked another show, this time in Fort Worth at the Penalty Box.
Unfortunately Mark Moss left the band the week of April 7th 2006.
We played the Penalty Box show without Mark, with only two weeks practice, opening up for my old band Southern Engineering. It wasn't the best set we ever played but we were all into playing more than ever.
Finally we started a real gig schedule, playing regularly around DFW, we played the Lone Star Country Club, Tomcats again (this time we owned), and the Aardvark.
A huge milestone was reached when, we decided to actually photograph the band

Unfortunately, around September of 2006 Jeremy decided to leave HPH and join Stir the Silence, citing musical differences. We see Jeremy and STS around all the time and are on good terms with all of them.
A month later, after a raving endorsement from Charles from Hellified Funk Crew, we invite Chad Reed, to audition as our new drummer. Chad is in after a half hour and we play a show in less than a month.

Around the end of February 2007, we brought Donnie "Crimy" Nall on board, as a second guitar. At the time we weren't looking for another guitarist, we were enjoying how smoothly things were going, and happy with all the new material we were writing. Donovan and I are both Ritual Misery fans from way back, so we decided to jam and see how it went. We really weren't sure if he would be ready for the Hellfest show in time, but he had it down, and we kicked some ass in front of our biggest crowd yet.
Now that he's been with us for 3 months, we are really starting to move forward. all of the "Drunk on Blood" riffs were written by Donnie, and after months of trying to figure out what to do in the middle of "Chrome Knuckles" we decided to do a 2 guitar melodic lead, then Donnie plays a lead, then another slow lead together. It's really kick ass, and I couldnt have come up with it by myself. We are just starting to scratch the surface of what we are capable of writing, when we play live Donnie fits right in, jumping around and going apeshit......... and NOT fucking up the songs.
